The attack took place after a convoy of vehicles carrying Indian soldiers was rammed into by a car carrying explosives. The suicide bomber was later identified as Ali Ahmad Dar, a 22-year-old local Kashmiri youth, who was radicalized after being beaten up by the Indian police.
