Christian Albert Theodor Billroth was a #German #surgeon, generally considered to be the founder of modern #abdominal #surgery.
#Billroth was a pioneer abdominal surgeon, and perfected many #procedures, including #gastric #resections still used daily in general surgery.
He helped establish the foundations of #academic #training and university direction of #surgical #sciences.
