The Central Industrial Security Force (#CISF) works, and is popularly known, as the Central #Armed Police Forces in our country.
The #CISF is governed by the Union Home Ministry. The agency's motto is '#Protection and #Security'. It will be the 54th anniversary of the foundation of the CISF this year.
There are official #felicitations and program held in different parts of the country, especially Delhi.
The CISF was formed on March 10, 1969, after an Act was passed in the parliament. However, in 1983 the CISF was transformed into an armed force after another Act was passed in the parliament. Hence, on this date, i.e., March 10, the occasion of CISF Raising Day will be observed.
Major duties of CISF include #safeguarding #sensitive #government buildings and Delhi Metro. It also plays a vital role in providing airport #security.
