Ram Navami is a festival that celebrates the birth of Lord Rama, the ideal man who exemplified righteousness, courage, compassion, loyalty, wisdom, and humility. Ram Navami is also a festival that can help you manage your diabetes better by following these tips: - Plan ahead. Choose low-sugar, low-fat, high-fiber foods and drinks. Plan your meals and snacks according to your medication schedule and blood sugar levels. - Choose healthy alternatives. Choose fruits, nuts, seeds, dark chocolate, water, green tea, lemon water, coconut water, baked or roasted snacks instead of sugary and fried foods and drinks. - Exercise regularly. Do some brisk walking, jogging, cycling, yoga, or dancing for at least 30 minutes a day. Join the ratha yatra s (chariot processions) of Rama for some physical activity and devotion. - Meditate daily. Meditate by focusing on your breath, chanting a mantra, listening to soothing music. - Learn from Lord Rama's example. Emulate his qualities of righteousness ( dharma ), courage ( shakti ), compassion ( karuna ), loyalty ( bhakti ), wisdom ( jnana ), and humility. Fasting can have some benefits for your health, such as weight loss, lower blood pressure, and better blood sugar control. But it can also have some risks, such as low or high blood sugar, dehydration, and medication problems. So how can you fast safely and effectively with diabetes? Here are some tips: - Talk to your doctor before fasting and follow their advice. - Check your blood sugar often and adjust your medication as needed. - Eat healthy and balanced meals before and after fasting. - Drink enough water and avoid drinks that can dehydrate you or raise your blood sugar. - Break your fast if you feel unwell or have any symptoms of low or high blood sugar. Fasting with diabetes is not easy, but it is possible and rewarding, if done right. You can still enjoy Ramadan with diabetes without compromising your health or faith. Just be careful, mindful, and grateful. And remember, fasting is not mandatory or obligatory for diabetics. You can still observe Ramadan in other ways, such as praying, reading the Quran, giving charity, and helping others. We wish you a happy and healthy Ramadan! 😊 To Learn more about Managing your Diabetes safely and effectively during Ramdaan Click Here 👇 http://masterdoctorwellness.blogspot.com/2023/03/7-surprising-benefits-of-fasting-for.html
