Sir Walter Norman Haworth was an English chemist who shared (with the Swiss chemist Paul Karrer) the 1937 #NobelPrize for Chemistry for his work in determining the chemical structures of various #carbohydrates and the synthesis of #VitaminC (1934), which was the first artificial preparation of any #vitamin.

He died on his birthday.
