Central Excise Day is celebrated across the whole #India to #encourage the #employees of #excise department to carry out the central excise duty all over India in better way in order and even to prevent the #corruption in goods manufacturing business as well as implement other rules to carry out best possible excise services.
The day is being celebrated to honour the service of Central Board of Excise and Custom (CBEC) to the country. The day is celebrated to #honour the officers associated with CBEC and their services. This is done to encourage the officers to carry out their duties with utmost #sincerity.
CBEC was renamed as the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC). Currently, it functions under the Department of Revenue in the Ministry of Finance. It is responsible for administering matters relating to #customs, central excise, service tax, and #narcotics. It is responsible for collecting excise duty, service tax, customs duty, and narcotics duty, preventing smuggling and drug trafficking.
